CEC Entertainment is the global leader in family entertainment and operator of Chuck E. Cheese, Peter Piper restaurants, and Pasqually’s ghost kitchen. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Director in our Internal Audit Department based at our Corporate Support Center in Irving, Texas. This position reports to the CFO.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees the development of the Company’s Audit Plan using a risk-based approach, in conjunction with senior management, line of business management and external auditors, as applicable. Presents the plan to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors annually for approval.
  • Implements the Audit Plan, including, as appropriate, any special tasks or projects requested by management or the Audit Committee.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive Sarbanes-Oxley audit program for evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the Company’s system of internal control and the quality of performance in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
  • Ensures the audit process is utilized in identifying control weakness and developing recommendations within all operations of the Company. The focus of this service may be on financial, operational, or information technology issues.
  • Provides regular reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and senior management on the Company’s system of internal controls, significant audit recommendations, status of results of the Audit Plan, the sufficiency of Audit Department resources, and investigations into fraudulent activity. Reviews and updates the Audit Committee and Internal Audit charters as necessary.
  • Ensures internal audit methodology is consistently applied and documented. Additionally, maintains audit files by documenting the audit procedures used and each of the audit reports completed.
  • As a member of the Company’s Information Security Team, reviews threats to the Company’s internal and external information security and participates in the development of plans for mitigation and response to such threats.
  • Manages, recruits, and develops a professional audit staff with sufficient knowledge, skills, experience, and professional certifications to meet the Company’s audit requirements.
  • Coordinates Internal Audit activities with those of the external auditors to ensure proper audit coverage, elimination of duplication of effort, and improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of audit activities.
  • Where appropriate, provides an independent assessment of business management’s view on risk and associated control effectiveness and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of business-risk management processes and program.
  • Promotes high levels of ethical awareness and conduct within the Company and administers independent investigations of potential ethical problems (identified via the Whistleblower Hotline and/or other means) or conflicts of interest. Notifies management and the Audit Committee of the findings, as appropriate.
  • Benchmarks regularly with peers through various forums.
  • Performs other duties and lends assistance to co-workers as directed by the immediate supervisor or other members of our Support Center Management Team

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field required.
  • Certifications: CPA, CIA (required); CFE, CISA (preferred).
  • 7+ years of Internal Audit experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience leading an audit team.
  • Proficient with MS Office and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects from concept to finish.
  • Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated relentless focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Attention to healthy team and corporate culture.
  • Ability to travel to store location(s) on occasion as needed.

Physical Demands:
To perform the duties of this position, the incumbent must have the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, reach, and carry, lift, pull, push between 1 – 25 lbs. Incumbent must use a computer, with the repetitive movement of both hands. Incumbent must be able to work an 8-hour shift, with some overtime. Incumbent must also be available to travel to various locations by airplane or by operating a vehicle if needed.
