CEC Entertainment, the global leader in family entertainment and operator of Chuck E. Cheese® and Peter Piper Pizza® restaurants, is seeking an Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer for the Chuck E. Cheese brand and its associated virtual brand. The Company and its franchisees operate a system of nearly 600 Chuck E. Cheese and more than 120 Peter Piper Pizza venues located in 47 states and 17 foreign countries and territories. This exciting opportunity is based at our Corporate Support Center in Irving, Texas, a Dallas suburb, and will report to the President and Chief Executive Officer. No virtual officing is available.

In the spring of 2020, CEC Entertainment launched Pasqually’s Pizza & Wings®, the Company’s first virtual kitchen operating out of more than 400 Chuck E. Cheese kitchens nationwide. New in 2022, CEC partnered with Virtual Dining Concepts® to create a virtual brand LankyBox Kitchen®, based on a popular YouTube channel, featuring food oriented around children’s tastes.

The Position:
We are looking for an experienced Marketing Executive to lead the Team, direct and oversee our marketing and brand strategy for the Chuck E. Cheese brand. You will design, implement, and monitor effective brand and marketing strategies that align with the Company’s business and financial goals. The ideal candidate will have strong Marketing and work experience managing a variety of promotional projects end-to-end, including paid advertising campaigns and digital marketing techniques. The EVP, CMO will have FEC or Restaurant experience, with a strong understanding of all aspects of the customer journey from everyday visits to birthdays, to group events, and off-premise sales.

Success Metrics:
Success will be measured on meeting the Company’s financial goals and overall core same store sales growth, new store sales goals, and new business development for virtual dining brands.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Creating a marketing strategy and plan
  • Designing, planning, and executing effective campaigns
  • Determining and implementing metrics to measure campaign effectiveness
  • Building brand awareness and generating innovative ideas to motivate visitation
  • Creating content strategies based on the business objectives, category focus, and audience segments through all channels (online/offline/social).
  • Designing and coordinating promotional campaigns, PR, and other marketing efforts across all channels
  • Managing and meeting the annual marketing and related G&A budgets
  • Build a high-performing team and effective coordination with cross-functional teams

Key Accountabilities:

  • Marketing strategy and brand positioning for the Chuck E. Cheese brand, and any virtual brands, supporting all corporately owned and franchised locations domestically
  • Media strategy & execution – paid/owned/earned media, social, loyalty
  • Website execution, brand content, functionality, SEO, eCommerce platforms
  • Birthday strategy and positioning inclusive of sales, packaging, pricing, promotion, and execution
  • Consumer insights and research, market trends, and competitive analysis
  • Creative services including external advertising creative, internal menu, and promotional creative development
  • Communications including public relations, crisis management, internal communications
  • Menu development for core menu and LTO’s, working with purchasing, operations, strategy depts on packaging, sourcing, and pricing
  • Oversight of guest relations and sales call center
  • Seasonal pass and subscription programs
  • New store construction brand guidelines and design elements
  • International Marketing – brand strategy guidelines and shared creative resources, insights, event, and marketing best practices for international department to regionalize with franchisee partners globally
  • Lead virtual dining brands with marketing strategy, menu development, creative, partnerships with 3rd party delivery companies, liaison with ordering partner platforms
  • Marketing support for eCommerce, Licensing, HR, and other internal depts, etc.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing or related discipline; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of marketing experience, preferably in a related industry in FEC’s or Restaurants
  • 5+ years of marketing leadership experience
  • Proven leadership experience carrying out marketing efforts, including planning, prioritizing, and implementing a strategy
  • Experience in building brand awareness and recognition
  • Entrepreneurial and work well in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong knowledge across marketing, including brand marketing, PR, content management, digital marketing & performance marketing.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills and comfortable dealing with the media.
  • Adept at building relationships and liaising with multiple stakeholders and thriving in matrix environments.
  • Strategic thinker & problem solver with the ability to be hands-on
