Job Description
The Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for leading asset protection strategies across Chuck E. Cheese and Peter Piper Pizza locations, focusing on reducing employee theft and fraud, safeguarding cash, shrink of company assets, and ensuring compliance with company policies concerning the same. This role partners closely with field operations to support a safe, family-friendly environment while protecting company revenue streams, including games, prizes, food & beverage, and cash handling processes. The position requires a proactive leader with strong investigative, analytical, and operational expertise. Reports to the Director, Internal Audit and Loss Prevention.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Loss Prevention
- Build and execute asset protection programs that reduce theft, fraud, and cash.
- Monitor exception‑based reporting, POS activity, and inventory variances to identify trends or anomalies.
- Develop/Improve action plans with field leadership to address root causes of loss.
- Monitor and analyze trends related to arcade revenue, game play activity, cash handling, and prize inventory to identify risks and opportunities.
- Support and enhance Envysion utilization, exception reporting tools, and other loss prevention technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support company objectives.
Investigations
- Lead investigations into employee theft, fraud, cash discrepancies and related company policy violations.
- Conduct interviews using professional investigative techniques and maintain detailed documentation.
- Partner with HR and Operations to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant resolution.
- Coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.
Compliance and Training
- Lead training initiatives for Operational teams focused on theft prevention, robbery response, cash handling, and operational compliance.
- Develop tools, guides, and communication materials that reinforce best practices.
- Monitor adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements, recommending updates as needed.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work with Operations to strengthen store‑level execution and reduce controllable losses (e.g., cash controls, safe handling procedures, and accountability standards).
- Partner with Supply Chain and Finance to improve inventory accuracy and product flow.
- Prepare and present reporting on shrink, investigations, audit results, and key risk indicators to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of experience in loss prevention, asset protection, retail, restaurant, or entertainment operations
- Must have proven supervisory experience overseeing loss prevention teams, including training and developing staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards, and driving accountability within a high-risk retail or corporate environment is essential.
- Strong experience with cash handling controls, high-volume transactions, and inventory management (arcade/prize experience preferred).
- Proven track record of conducting investigations and reducing shrink in multi-unit environments.
- Experience working with closed-circuit television/camera “CCTV” systems, POS data, and exception-based reporting tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and cross-functional partnership skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to influence field teams and present to leadership.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive/confidential information.
- Professional certification (e.g. LPC, CPP, CFE, or equivalent) preferred. Equivalent experience or credentials will be considered.
Operational Expectations
- Acts as a strategic partner to Operations, balancing asset protection with guest experience in a family entertainment environment.
- Highly visible in the field, building relationships with store teams and reinforcing a culture of accountability.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with diverse operational challenges.
- Willingness to travel to store locations (approximately 10–30%).
- Flexibility to support peak business periods, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
